Your Guide

I was born in 1961 and have about 40 years of fishing experience. I fished in various countries. I have a deep passion for fishing. For me a pike over 10 kg is just as valuable as that beautiful brook trout in a small mountain stream. The whole experience around that fish, often together with a good fishing buddy makes all the difference.

I like to be outside and experience nature and if possible with a fishing rod on or near water. That’s why I like to introduce others to my passion and my fishing approach, which is another way of observing aquatic life. Life under water holds so many secrets and surprises that no fishing day is the same!

My motto is that there is no bad fishing day. Every fishing day teaches you something you thought you already knew. Even after more than 40 years of experience I encounter unexpected situations that leave me wonder why.

I worked as an environmental consultant, as a  project advisor for areas to be developed and as a safety consultant for a medium-sized municipality in the Netherlands before moving to Sweden with my wife. Here in Sweden I have worked as a buss driver and as an employee in home care.

In the Netherlands I was also an author in various fishing magazines and an editor at a fly fishing magazine. I have served on various boards of fishing associations and have completed training in fisheries management.

Besides fishing I love the outdoors in general, camping in the fjälls and the forest with my wife and the dogs and sharpening my bushcraft skills.

I like all kinds of fishing techniques but my heart goes out to fly fishing. I fished a lot in the northern states of the US and in several countries in Europe.

I have seen it all, I have done it all. From fly fishing in little creeks of Pennsylvania to deep sea fishing in Western Ireland. What has stayed with me are mainly the memories of beautiful surroundings, good company and special experiences. The fish has become less important over the years.
